reposting from eauj's blog (i hope you dont mind) because i can't get over the fact that sometimes, the people closest to you are the ones who are most skeptical about your intentions.
i just don't get it.
or then again, if you haven't seen or experienced something genuinely good then that probably merits your disbelief.

Is it the culture? Or are people just down right skeptic?
Let's say a guy offers to open the door for a lady, and the woman, instead of being thankful raises an eyebrow and thinks "aba't pumo-points to, ah?"
Or a friend calls another friend just to ask how he is and he gets a reply like "..So anong kailangan mo?"
Sometimes, no matter how sincere or good-hearted you are, people will still question your intent. Even people you know.
It sucks.
But you keep offering anyway.
Maybe one day they'll realize you were only trying to help.
And even if they don't, at least you did something good.
